Frank West’s voice actor from Dead Rising is not in the remaster, here’s why

Frank West from Dead Rising Voice actor Terence Rotolo will not be back for the Deluxe Remaster and fans wanted to know why, so they went straight to the source. Capcom announced that the game would feature “new, high-quality character models for Frank West,” but it was quickly noted that the character’s voice was not the same either.

Responding to a fan’s Instagram direct message shared by X-users FrankByDaylight and rxysinister, Rotolo thanked fans for their support and revealed that he simply wasn’t contacted for the role. From his message, it sounded like Rotolo jumped at the opportunity, but unfortunately, Capcom chose someone else this time.

“I have always been grateful for every opportunity to bring Frank to life,” Rotolo wrote. “I was simply not called to this mission. The reasons for this lie with the producer himself.”

There is speculation that Capcom shunned Rotolo because he is a member of a union. Although there is no evidence of this, the gaming industry seems to continue to show a strong aversion to unions.

However, Rotolo is a recurring voice in the Resident Evil games, so it’s entirely possible that Capcom’s decision had nothing to do with the unionization.
