(24 MAY 2023) Two people were arrested in connection with the stabbing attack on 51-year-old Tammey McWilliams in Great Falls on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

Great Falls police said Wednesday evening that 20-year-old Bing Derrick Ahenakew and 18-year-old Charlotte Mary Andrade were arrested on charges of first-degree murder.

Cascade County Sheriff’s Coroner Jesse Slaughter said an autopsy was performed Wednesday morning in Missoula and the cause of death was multiple stab wounds and the manner of death was homicide.

Police officers responded to a “noise disturbance” just before 2 a.m. Tuesday near Chowen Springs Park, near the 800 block of 17th Street South.

When officers arrived, they found several people attempting to leave the southeast corner of the park, where police also found McWilliams’ body.

The GFPD stated that “evidence and statements indicate that some type of physical disturbance occurred” and that the investigation was ongoing.

Police determined that this was not a random attack and that there was no danger to the public.

The GFPD added: “Investigators are exploring every possibility in their investigation before filing charges. Further investigation and evidence review are ongoing. Detailed information will not be released at this time as it could jeopardize a full and thorough investigation.”

Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is asked to call the GFPD at 406-781-8926.

Bail for Ahenakew and Andrade was set at $500,000 each.
