Travis Kelce spoke about Taylor Swift and friendship bracelets for the first time a year ago

Travis Kelce has three Super Bowl rings, but it’s another accessory that inspires his fans to celebrate.

Last July, the 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs star gifted his fellow NFL tight ends at his university friendship bracelets to honor Taylor Swift – and just weeks later, he expressed his interest in the pop superstar on his podcast. New heights.

“So it’s my third year here at Tight End University,” Kelce says in a video from a fan account on X (formerly Twitter). “I thought what better way to say hello than to greet the guys with friendship bracelets and take a page from Taylor Swift.”

On July 26, Travis joked on an episode of his and his brother Jason Kelce’s podcast about how he tried to give Swift his phone number before she stopped at her Eras Tour concert on July 8, a few weeks earlier. However, Travis revealed that he was unable to speak to her because he had been told she was conserving her voice for the show.

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t speak before or after her performances because she has to conserve her voice for the 44 songs she sings. So I was a little pissed that I couldn’t give her one of the bracelets I made for her,” Travis said at the time. “She’s not meeting anyone, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personally.”

Just weeks later, Swift, 34, was publicly linked to the Chiefs star while attending a game at Arrowhead Stadium.

“Kudos to Taylor for coming. That was pretty brave,” Travis said later on his podcast, talking to his brother about how he felt having the singer in his suite during the “exciting game.”

“I just thought it was great that everyone in the suite had nothing but good things to say about her – friends and family. She looked fantastic and everyone spoke highly of her,” he said, adding that the icing on the cake was that “of course the day went perfectly for the Chiefs fans,” referring to their 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears.

A week later, the team poked fun at the supposed relationship by posting a video on TikTok of Chiefs players exchanging friendship bracelets.

“This is something my little sister would give me,” joked defensive tackle Chris Jones, while other players like cornerback L’Jarius Sneed and wide receiver Rashee Rice accepted the accessory with open arms.

However, when Kelce was presented with one that read “Killa Trav,” he smiled and said, “I know what this is about.”
