The lawyer of Justin Timberlake spoke out after the singer arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in New York City.

Edward Burke Jr., in a statement sent to media outlets including PEOPLE And EHR! Messagesaid he “looks forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations.”

“He will have a lot to say at the appropriate time. He is currently awaiting the full findings from the prosecution,” Burke said.

Timberlake, 43, was arrested in the early hours of June 18. A police officer stopped him when he saw him disregard a stop sign and fail to stay on the right side of the road.

Timberlake reportedly told police he “drank a martini” and followed his friends home.

CBSreported, citing court documents, that Timberlake’s eyes were “bloodshot and glassy” and that he “performed poorly on all standard sobriety tests.”

“Mr. Timberlake was arrested, the case processed and held overnight pending arraignment in the morning,” police said.

His next court date would be a virtual appearance on July 26.

Timberlake became famous as a member of the boy band NSYNC before launching a solo career and eventually becoming an actor. He has won 10 Grammy Awards and four Emmy Awards.

He is married to the actress Jessica BielThey have two sons together.
