Major drug dealer in Michigan found guilty of multiple drug and weapons offenses

Ricardo Delgado II, the leader of a large-scale drug conspiracy in the Saginaw Bay area, was found guilty by a federal court jury of several drug and weapons offenses, including drug conspiracy and possession of kilograms of cocaine and fentanyl with the intent to resell, possession of several machine guns and criminal possession of a firearm.

Delgado, 51, was convicted of conspiracy to possess five kilograms or more of cocaine with intent to distribute and redistribute, possession of five kilograms or more of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of 400 grams or more of fentanyl with intent to distribute, possession of a machine gun in furtherance of a drug offense, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug offense, possession of a machine gun, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of an unregistered silencer and use of a communications facility to commit a drug offense.

Court documents allege that Delgado was involved in a large-scale drug conspiracy that involved importing numerous kilograms of cocaine and fentanyl from Mexico and distributing them in the Saginaw Bay area.

Through a court-approved wiretap, FBI agents learned that Delgado was seeking retaliation for a subordinate stealing his drugs and that he had ordered that subordinate to take revenge.

However, the plan was foiled by the authorities. In addition, after Delgado’s arrest, police officers seized 13 kilograms of cocaine, 2 kilograms of fentanyl, 12 firearms, including two machine guns and two silencers, and over $200,000 in cash from the 51-year-old’s apartment.

If convicted, Delgado faces a minimum sentence of 55 years and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
