Grapevine, Southlake and Trophy Club are planning fireworks displays this week.

Southlake

The City of Southlake presents Southlake Stars & Stripes on July 3rd from 5pm-11pm at the Southlake Town Square.

The event features live music at the Rustin Pavilion and on the Frank Edgar Cornish Park stage. A countdown to the fireworks begins at 9:25 p.m., followed by the fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.

According to Daniel Cortez, director of economic development and tourism for the city of Southlake, the fireworks display will be live streamed on the city’s Facebook page.

Cortez added that shuttle buses will run from 4 p.m. to midnight to White’s Chapel Methodist Church at 185 S. White Chapel Blvd. and Gateway Church at 700 Blessed Way.

According to the event website, there will be family activities and children’s areas as well as carnival games, bubbles, crafts, activities and temporary tattoos.

“It’s one of the best events we do each year,” Southlake Mayor Shawn McCaskill said during the June 18 meeting. “Even though it’s getting bigger, it still feels like a small-town, old-fashioned activity and event.”

Trophy Club

The city’s Trophy Club is hosting three events to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday.

The Patriot 5K and 1-mile fun run begin at 7:15 a.m. at Byron Nelson High School, 2775 Bobcat Blvd. Participation costs range from free to $40, depending on age group. The Patriots parade begins at 10 a.m. and also starts at Byron Nelson High School.

Finally, there will be activities in Independence Park East from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., including a fireworks display. There will be activities for children, food vendors and live music from Limelight. A 20-minute fireworks display will begin at 9:40 p.m. After the fireworks, Limelight will return to the stage.

grapevine

The Summertime in Grapevine Firework Extravaganza takes place on July 4th at 9:30 p.m.

This year, however, there will be different viewing locations as the event has been relocated due to flooding around Grapevine Lake. Normally, the fireworks are set off near Grapevine Lake, but this year the event has been moved to near the Great Wolf Lodge.

According to the city’s website, the fireworks display will last 18 minutes.

Surrounding areas

There will be no official Fourth of July event in Westlake, however, the Vaquero Golf Club will host an event sanctioned by the city for its residents and members. Colleyville’s patriotic Stars and Guitars event was held on June 21.

What else?

The discharge and possession of fireworks is illegal for residents and visitors in Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, Trophy Club and Westlake.
