One of the best weather disaster films, Twisters features an incredible soundtrack with songs from various genres. Directed by Jan de Bont and starring Helen Hunt as Jo and Bill Paxton as Bill, Twisters follows a group of meteorologists trying to figure out how to create an early warning system for tornadoes. More than two decades after the release of the 1996 filma sequel entitled Twisters is scheduled to hit theaters on July 19, 2024. However, it remains to be seen whether the film’s soundtrack will be as impressive as its predecessor.

“Talula (BT’s Tornado Mix)” by Tori Amos: The first song on the Twisters Soundtrack is “Talula (BT’s Tornado Mix)” by Tori Amos. The single can be heard in the scene where Jo and her team try to get a weather forecast. The original version of “Talula” was written by Tori Amos, but the version that appears in Twisters was remixed from BT’s “Tornado”. BT’s “Tornado” remix eventually replaced the original version of the song.


“Motherless Child” by Eric Clapton: The next song on the soundtrack is “Motherless Child” by Eric Clapton. The 1994 rock song plays in the background during Laurence and Robert’s conversation about maps. The song can also be heard when Bill and Melissa arrive where Jo and her team are working. Although “Motherless Child” plays in the film, the song is not on the Original motion picture soundtrack from “Twister”.

Twisters

In Twister, Bill and Jo Harding, veteran storm chasers on the brink of divorce, must team up to develop an advanced weather warning system by putting themselves in the crosshairs of extremely violent tornadoes. Jo’s childhood was marked by the trauma of losing her father in a deadly F5 tornado, setting her on the path of becoming a storm chaser. After developing new technology with her team called “Dorothy,” Jo seeks to make tornadoes more predictable to give people a fighting chance at safety. Jo’s obsession has caused a rift between her and her husband, but new breakthroughs may bring them back together as the two tackle their biggest challenge yet – an approaching system that will spawn another F5 tornado.
