Boys and Girls Club celebrates one-year anniversary in Fort Morgan – The Fort Morgan Times

The Boys & Girls Club of Weld County celebrated the first anniversary of the Fort Morgan Clubhouse with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Fort Morgan Chamber of Commerce on Monday, June 24. The Fort Morgan Chamber of Commerce welcomed the Boys and Girls Club of Weld County as a new member, celebrating its one-year anniversary, on Monday, June 24. Community leaders joined the group to learn more about the programs offered and meet the staff.

Evi Salgado, Executive Director of the Fort Morgan Chamber of Commerce, said, “We are thrilled to welcome the Boys & Girls Club of Weld County as a member of the Fort Morgan Chamber of Commerce. We look forward to a long and successful partnership that will positively impact our beloved community. We believe in their mission and their sincere desire to serve and bring our community together. The Fort Morgan Chamber of Commerce also congratulates them on their anniversary and we look forward to a successful journey together.”

The club, called the Fort Morgan Clubhouse, is located in the back of the Baker School at 300 Lake Street in Fort Morgan. The Boys and Girls Club serves youth in kindergarten through 5th grade after school and during the summer. The club’s core programs focus on education, health and wellness, leadership, sports and recreation, and the arts.

“We cover Weld County and Morgan County, a large area,” said Dave Dion, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Weld County. “Sergio (De La Rosa, Fort Morgan clubhouse director) is very active in the community. We’re glad to have him. Everyone in the community I’ve talked to confirms how great the need for this has been, and the participation is very good.”

Dixon plans to spend more time in Morgan County and looks forward to meeting other organizations and networking.

Registration is required for the clubhouse. You can reach the clubhouse at (970) 888-2632. Currently, the registration list is full, but you can be placed on a waitlist.
