The High Plains 4-H Club held its meeting on April 15, 2024 at the Gary DeSoto Building.

Three members who participated in the day of the dance talked about what dances they had learned. Miranda Rice of Baby Bear Hugs thanked the members for their help with the Eclipse Viewing Party on
April 8 at the Sterling Public Library. Members have signed up for shifts to work at the 4-H carnival.

Families must request printed Mass books from the field office if they would like one.

Carol Aderman of Co-Bank spoke to the club about why she donated $500 to the club. The club uses this money to enable its members to attend leadership conferences. The club is grateful to Co-Bank for providing us with these opportunities.

Sophia Matthewson completed her demonstration on achieving smooth rocket edges. Luke Meece completed his demonstration on building a drawer robot for odds and ends. Leia Meece completed her demonstration on different dog breeds and their uses. Luke and Grace Peterson completed their demonstration on pig diseases.

To conclude the meeting, Tony Dallegge and Landin Coggin led the group in a game of human tic tac toe. Two people (x and o) race to find a chair. It was an entertaining way to end the meeting. The next meeting will be on May 20th at 7pm.

On April 21st, the 4-H Carnival was held at the fairgrounds in the indoor arena. It was a more spacious area than in years past. Our club had four booths: fishing game, Frisbee throwing, spin game, and popcorn and popsicles. Most members helped at one of these booths. It was a successful fundraiser and a lot of fun.
