Lorain-born singer Jaclyn Bradley will release her new single “Hometown,” according to a press release.

“Hometown” and the B-side “Burn for You” will be available on vinyl and all streaming services on July 7, the press release said.

Bradley, the daughter of Lorain Mayor Jack Bradley and Deborah Bradley and mother of Roma Palmer, said in the press release that “Hometown” is a song about finding everything you’re looking for in your own backyard.

In fact, according to the press release, “Hometown” was written in Lorain together with fellow countryman Derek Connell.

Bradley invited her local friends to participate in the project, and throughout the song, chants from friends singing along around the campfire can be heard, the press release said.

“Hometown was produced in Nashville, Tennessee, by Austin Moorhead,” the press release states.

“On the way to the studio in Nashville to record ‘Hometown,’ we were picked up by a Lyft driver from Lorain,” Bradley said. “During the ride, we shared childhood memories and even called mutual friends.”

“It’s amazing how signs and gifts appear all around us if we are open to them.”

As for the song, Bradley said she hopes it will touch the hearts of everyone connected to their roots.

“Sometimes we find that everything we are looking for is already inside us,” she said. “The most beautiful journey is always the one you take back to your own heart.”

In 2020, Bradley opened a music school in downtown Lorain, Rock Town Music Academy, where she teaches students of all ages to find their unique singing and voice.

In just a few years, the school has won the award for best music instruction in the county and was recently nominated for the best music school in the area by Cleveland Magazine.

Bradley also directs music therapy at Mercy Health – Lorain Hospital in Lorain.
