The Tick Tock Sensation, whose real name is Anthony Dawsonis one of the biggest stars on the platform. With a staggering fan base of over 20.3 million, he has taken the internet by storm. In fact, Forbes honored Tony by naming him one of their Top 50 Creators in 2023.

While he usually writes about conservation and his pet duck Baby Girl, Tony also takes his fans on the wild ride he calls life. Most recently, TooTurntTony was banned from Daytona Beach.

Banned from Daytona Beach

“This is how I got banned from Daytona Beach,” he said in a newly uploaded TikTok video. “So I recently built a shark fishing chair for my Jeep. Now I just need to find a beach to ride it on.”

“After minimal research, Daytona seemed like the place to go,” Tony added, before playing a commercial that claimed, “If you’ve ever wanted to take your car to the beach, Daytona is the place to get a little sand on your tires.”

“We’ll test it,” Tony said.

“We hadn’t been there more than 20 minutes when I had this on the hook,” he continued, before someone took the wheel and drove his Jeep away from the ocean. Tony held onto the rod, but soon yelled, “Stop the car!”, jumped out from behind and ran toward the water (rod still in hand).

“A huge tiger shark,” he said as the camera panned to the catch. “Fifteen minutes later, we were surrounded by police.”

Tony then held up a citation that read, “Daytona Beach Ban.” – It’s safe to assume Tony won’t be catching anything in Daytona for a while…

Why was Tony banned?

Fans noticed that the video ended abruptly without any explanation as to why TooTurntTony was actually banned.

“Why was he banned?” asked one user, and another replied, “What did you do wrong?”

“How did he get banned? What did he do?” asked a third.

The Blast did a little digging, and the mystery of why he was banned is still unsolved. It couldn’t have been shark fishing, because according to Daytona’s official website, “Daytona Beach offers some of the best shark fishing in Florida.”

To fish for sharks, you must complete an online course at MyFWC.com/SharkCourse to obtain a license. While we don’t know for sure if Tony is licensed, given his commitment to conservation, it’s very likely.

TooTurntTony hosts Shark Week

TooTurntTony is a true nature lover and recently announced on social media that he is exploring Florida with a team of experts to learn all about sharks. He is even calling it his very own Shark Week!

“For the past few months, I have been traveling all over Florida with a team of experts and shark fishermen documenting sharks, trying to learn more about these amazing animals while also performing stunts that have never been attempted and should not be attempted,” said Tony.

“Throughout the months of June and July, several videos about sharks and marine animals will be released. All proceeds from the TooTurnt Shark Week project will be donated to ocean cleanup,” he added.
