Julianne Moore, Milly Alcock and Meghann Fahy join Netflix series “Sirens”

Julianne Moore, Milly Alcock and Meghann Fahy are set to star in the upcoming Netflix miniseries “Sirens.”

diversity In February, it was exclusively reported that the black comedy series would be released on Netflix. It comes from “Maid” creator Molly Smith Metzler and is based on her play “Elemeno Pea”.

The series is told over the course of a weekend at a luxurious beachfront estate. According to the official logline, “Devon (Fahy) finds her sister Simone (Alcock) developing a truly sinister relationship with her new boss, mysterious socialite Michaela Kell (Moore). Michaela’s cult-like lifestyle of luxury is like a drug to Simone and Devon has decided it’s time for an intervention. When Devon tracks down her sister to say WTF, she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be.”

Moore is one of the most celebrated actresses of her generation. She has been nominated for five Academy Awards for Boogie Nights, The End of an Affair, Far from Heaven, The Hours and Still Alice, winning Best Actress for the latter. She also won an Emmy for her role as Sarah Palin in the 2012 film Game Change. She has recently starred in series such as Mary & George and Lisey’s Story.

She is represented by WME, Entertainment 360 and Edelstein, Laird & Sobel.

Fahy recently received critical acclaim (and an Emmy nomination) for her work in Season 2 of the hit HBO series The White Lotus. She is also known for the Freeform series The Bold Type, in which she starred for five seasons. Her other roles include One Life to Live and appearances on series such as The Good Wife, Gossip Girl, and Chicago Fire.

She is represented by WME, Anonymous Content and Sloane Offer.

Alcock is best known for her role in Season 1 of HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon. In January, it was announced that she would take on the role of Supergirl in the rebooted DC film universe. She has also appeared in shows in her native Australia, such as Pine Gap and A Place to Call Home.

She is repped by CAA, Entertainment 360, Curtis Brown Group and Goodman Genow.

“Sirens” is the first project under Metzler’s multi-year overall deal with Netflix, which she signed after the huge success of “Maid.” She serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer of “Sirens” under her Quiet Coyote banner. Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley and Margot Robbie are also executive producers for LuckyChap. Nicole Kassell will direct the first two episodes and also serve as executive producer.
