Pedro Pascal’s voice note in Omar Apollo’s song reveals ‘shattering’ heartbreak

Singer Omar Apollo has spoken about Pedro Pascal’s “heartbreaking” contribution to his new album, God said nooriginated.

The penultimate track of the 27-year-old singer-songwriter’s latest album features an emotional voice recording of The last of us Star, in which he remembers feelings of hopelessness.

“Okay, I’m not sure how to start with this,” says 49-year-old Pascal in the song titled “Pedro.”

“I remember finishing the job and being too scared to go back to the US. It was like the second wave of Covid in Europe. And I went from Budapest to Switzerland. That was a place I could go to buy some time and figure out what I was going to do before Christmas,” he continues.

“I arrived very shaken too. I had an incredible time in my job, but something had really torn my heart apart. And I remember leaving – I think it must have been Lucerne.

“I remember thinking it brought me to my knees, and it was this kind of residential area. And I remember literally being brought to my knees by a park bench.”

He adds: “And I remember asking the park bench to come alive and save me because I felt like there wouldn’t be another moment after that moment. But there was one, one. I can’t believe I’m sending you this.”
