Singer suffers stage malfunction

Singer suffers stage malfunction

Taylor Swift knows how to fend off mistakes on the Eras Tour, from wardrobe mishaps to technical issues, some of which have become affectionately known as the “Errors Tour.” At her June 30 show in Dublin, the singer experienced a stage malfunction that left her briefly stranded, but she handled the situation like a pro.

When Swift began singing “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” during the Department for Tortured Poets act, the platform she was standing on wouldn’t lower. As seen in viral videos, Swift’s platform was the only one that didn’t disappear back into the stage as planned, leaving her stuck above the stage.

Luckily, her backup dancer Jan Ravnik came to her aid. Swift immediately sat down on her podium while Ravnik, in character, dramatically walked over to her and lifted her off the stage. Swift smiled at him and didn’t miss a single note of the song.

At a show in Cincinnati in June 2023, the elevator that takes Swift under the stage for costume changes malfunctioned after she performed “Look What You Made Me Do” at the end of the concert. Call Act. Swift thought quickly and sprinted to the back of the main stage to change so she wouldn’t miss her next cue.

Later that evening, she joked about the technical glitch in a TikTok comment, noting that she’s “still as fast as a boy,” making a pun on her last name.

Recently, Swift’s large LED screens have been experiencing numerous glitches while touring in the UK and Europe, particularly during her first three London shows on June 21-23, but some fans believe these glitches may be intentional.

At her June 22 show, the screen froze at the exact moment Swift stared into the camera, against a black and white filter that made her eyes look scary. Some Swifties thought it might be a hint that Call (Taylor’s Version) could finally be in sight and calls the error “Call Era-coded.”

While the screens showed interference on several other occasions, which definitely were not Call-coded: If anyone can disguise a technical problem as an Easter egg, it’s Swift.
