“The darker the hell you must endure / The brighter the heaven you get to enjoy / The harder the fall, the higher you soar / God opens a window when the devil closes the door,” the artist raps during the track.

The song refers to how he has experienced some difficult moments in his career in recent years, such as the consequences of his Oscar defeat against Chris Rock which led to him being banned from the Academy’s events for 10 years.

“Believe me, they tried to bleed Will Smith dry / Looking back, I see that misfortune was a gift / To rise to higher gifts takes faith,” says the movie star in “You Can Make It.”

“So dry your eyes and then you will find a way / From the madness, from the labyrinth / And from the saddest into the rays / The darkest of nights turns to day / And out of every storm comes rain….”

“Nobody has it easy / We all have a cross to bear / But there is wisdom in the fire / And every moment is an opportunity / Embrace the journey,” the song continues.

It also ends with Smith reciting, “We are not punished, we are forged, dance in your darkest moments.”

In addition to Smith, “You Can Make It” also features artists Chandler Moor, Kirk Franklin and the Sunday Service Choir.

The joint track marks the actor’s return to music after being away from the art form for nearly five years, alongside his collaboration with Sean Paul ‘Light ‘Em Up’, which was featured on the soundtrack of his latest filmBad Boys: Ride or Die.
