Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest is a popular Fourth of July Independence Day spectacle on Coney Island in south Brooklyn, and the disqualification of reigning Mustard Belt champion Joey Chestnut for signing a sponsorship deal with vegan food maker Impossible Foods has only increased the excitement this year.

Here’s how you can enter this year’s hot dog eating contest and what you should know about the participants.

How can I watch Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest?

ESPN will broadcast Nathan’s hot dog eating contest on Thursday, July 4, on its network.

The 2024 Nathan’s Famous Women’s Hot Dog Eating Contest begins at 10:45 a.m. and will air on ESPN3.

A special camera will be focused on reigning Mustard Belt champion Miki Sudo. The “Miki Sudo Camera” broadcast begins at 11 a.m., also on ESPN 3.

ESPN will also point a camera at professional eater Geoffrey Esper. The “Geoffrey Esper Camera” broadcast begins at 12:30 p.m. on ESPN3.

Who will compete in Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest 2024?

Neither Major League Eating, the organizing body for Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contests, nor Nathan’s Famous have announced the final list of participants for this year’s competition, but viewers can expect the majority of the world’s top 50 competitive eaters to participate.

However, various sports betting providers have opened betting odds for known participants for anyone who wants to take part in the betting promotions.

PrizePicks odds suggest that Esper will win the men’s Mustard Belt and that reigning champion Sudo will defend her women’s title.

PrizePicks also named professional eater James Webb as a possible winner in the men’s category and Michelle Lesco as a “potential contender” in the women’s category.

According to Esper, DraftKings’ favorites to win the 2024 Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest are: Nick Wehry (+550); Patrick Bertoletti (+650); the field (+2000); Gideon Oji (+5000); Darrien Thomas (+5000); Derek Hendrickson (+7500); Max Stanford (+7500); and George Chiger (+7500).
