Love Island’s Jess shocked by speculation about Molly and Callum

Love Island star Jess Gale said she was shocked by the speculation surrounding her boyfriend Callum Jones and his ex Molly Smith.

Speak with Digital SpyJess – who first appeared in season 6 and returned for the first season of All Stars, which concluded last month – spoke out about any public perceptions that surprised her after she left the reality TV villa for the second time.

“I was really shocked by all the speculation about Molly and Callum, just because it wasn’t really like that in the villa and I don’t think that kind of thing happens,” she began.

“I was shocked and we heard a bit about it in the villa – we had phone calls and stuff – and I thought there would be a little (external reaction),” Jess continued.

She added: “When we came out, I saw fan accounts of Molly and Callum and all that. I just thought, ‘Wow, this is crazy.’

“I definitely didn’t expect that. I feel like people love fairy tales and even if I was watching from the outside I would probably say, ‘Yeah, Molly and Callum.’

“But they’re both really, really nice people, and I feel like it’s a fairytale ending. But I actually think it’s very nice that they’re friends now. It’s a nice ending, though.”

After meeting on the first winter series of Love Island, Molly and Callum dated for three years before splitting in 2023 and entering All Stars as singles.

Finally, Molly won the All Stars series together with Tom Clare.

Jess, the identical twin sister of islander Eve Gale, confirmed that she and Callum are still together despite all the talk.

“Callum and I get on really well. He only came to London today, so I’ll see him later,” she said Digital Spy.

“I haven’t seen him since the show. He was in Manchester, I was in London,” Jess said.

She continued: “Things are going well and I’m really happy to see him. It feels like an eternity because after spending every single day together in the villa, even though it wasn’t that long ago, it feels like we’ve been apart for ages now.”

Love Island: All Stars will be broadcast on ITV2, ITVX and STV.
