Raphael Varane’s next club outlined as a “dream” after leaving Manchester United

Raphael Varane is Italian newcomers Como’s “dream target” in the summer transfer window after the centre-back left Old Trafford within days.

The Frenchman will officially leave Manchester United on June 30 when his current contract with the club expires. He has been at United since joining from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021.

United had the option to extend his contract by a year but decided against it, so the 31-year-old is now looking for a new club. His contract situation has allowed the defender to speak to clubs abroad over the past six months, but no decision has been made on his future.

Earlier this month it was claimed that Varane was in talks with Major League Soccer team Inter Miamiin a deal that would reunite him with Lionel Messi. The club is also owned by United legend David Beckham.

But it seems that the centre-back has a few options to choose from worldwide. According to journalists Fabrizio RomanoComo, coached by former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, consider Varane a “dream” and will try to make the deal happen.

Como will play in Serie A next season after finishing second in Serie B and gaining automatic promotion to the league. The team is now preparing for life in the top flight.

Varane made 95 appearances for United during his time at the club, with his last appearance coming in the FA Cup final win over Manchester City and the player ended his time at the club with a cup win.
