Barzakh trailer: Magical realism meets supernatural drama in Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed’s new series | TV news

Fawad Khan revealed details about the upcoming series and said, “It was incredible. I grew to love the people I worked with and it felt like home. When I was approached for Barzakh after Cake, I jumped at the opportunity. Asim’s work marks him out as a unique director with a focus on character development in a contemporary way. Also, I always wanted to try something out of the ordinary and Barzakh is not ordinary.”

Describing the series as experimental, he added, “It’s nothing short of experimental and I love it. Asim and Shailja are a power duo. They have tuned into each other’s sensibilities and aesthetics. That makes the process all the easier. Working with such a team is always a pleasure. Besides Asim & Shailja, there are many other people who have made this journey unforgettable.”

Fawad Khan also spoke about reuniting with Sanam Saeed. He said, “After all these years, working with Sanam is still a comfort zone. I enjoyed it and I believe in her abilities. This always makes my job easier.”

Sanam Saeed was also excited about Barzakh, highlighting that the series tackles themes such as family dynamics, love, loss and the mysteries of the afterlife. She highlighted her interest in roles that challenge the boundaries of conventional storytelling and praised the series for delving into mystical elements.

“What excites me most,” added Sanam, “is the opportunity to work with Fawad again and share the screen with experienced actors like Salman Shahid and Sajid Hasan, with whom I have worked in the theatre in the past.”

Barzakh will premiere on July 19 and will be released simultaneously on Zindagi’s YouTube channel and ZEE5. New episodes will be available every Tuesday and Friday at 8:00 PM IST.
