Fire breaks out in Taylor Swift’s house

Taylor Swift was praised by a fellow singer for saving their lives in a house fire.

Singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams was at Taylor’s home in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood when the disaster occurred earlier this year.

The two were enjoying dinner and numerous drinks when they heard something fall over in the chart superstar’s house – but they assumed the noise was made by one of Taylor’s cats.

The duo continued drinking and were later alerted to discover a fire threatening to engulf the kitchen in the early hours of the morning.

Recalling the horrific moment and Taylor’s quick action, Gracie told Billboard, “She was such a legend – I don’t know how she knew what to do at that hour or in our condition.”

She added: “We both had a terrible cough for weeks because of the fumes from the fire extinguisher.”

Gracie supported Taylor during the 2023 dates of her ongoing Eras tour and will release her second album, The Secret of Us, later this month.

The record includes a track called “Us,” on which Taylor performs vocals — and the pair had just finished working on the track when the fire was discovered.

Gracie recalls that the process of writing the song was spontaneous and seemingly effortless. She says, “Something just came to us very hard and very quickly at the same time. So we ran to the piano and started writing this song… I always fantasized about this kind of thing as a kid.”
