Chris Paul signs one-year, million deal with San Antonio Spurs

SAN ANTONIO – 12-time NBA All-Star Chris Paul has signed a contract with the San Antonio Spurs, according to ESPN.

A post on X by Adrian Wojnarowski stated that Paul agreed to a one-year contract worth over $11 million.

League sources said the Golden State Warriors released Paul before Sunday’s deadline, which would have guaranteed him a contract for next season.

Now Paul will collaborate with French phenomenon Victor Wembanyama.

Paul has played for six different teams during his illustrious NBA career, most recently for Golden State.

He came into the league in 2005 from Wake Forest University and immediately made a name for himself with the New Orleans Hornets.

After his time in New Orleans, Paul went to Los Angeles to play for the Clippers for six seasons.

Although Paul turns 39 in May, he could give Spurs’ squad an extra boost by adding experienced leaders.

Paul averaged 9.2 points, 6.8 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game in 58 games last season.
