On Sunday afternoon, the diver got into difficulties at the shipwreck due to storm and rain reports, Makthes says.

He was pulled out of the sea by another swimmer and emergency services were called.

Emergency services were unable to resuscitate the Briton and he died at the scene, SL Press claims.

The Michaniona Port Authority is currently investigating and an autopsy is being performed.
