ZeroEyes raises $53 million in Series B funding

ZeroEyes raises million in Series B funding

ZeroEyesa Philadelphia, PA-based provider of an AI-based video analytics platform for gun detection, has raised $53 million in its second round of funding.

The round was led by Sorenson Capital, with participation from Intel Capital, BroadLight Capital and existing investors.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth, including through investments in distribution partnership programs, research and development, business expansion and its Gun Violence Research Center.

Led by CEO Mike Lahiff, ZeroEyes provides a proactive, human-verified AI gun detection software solution that integrates with existing digital security cameras and helps curb mass shootings and gun-related violence by reducing response times, providing actionable intelligence with images, and creating clarity in chaos. The ZeroEyes team also offers consulting, installation assistance, and training exercises for mass shooting events to improve security in schools, corporate, and government buildings.

The weapon detection and intelligent situational awareness software is deployed on top of existing digital security cameras. When a weapon is detected, images are immediately relayed to the ZeroEyes Operations Center (ZOC), a fully in-house operations center staffed 24/7 by specially trained U.S. military and police veterans. If these experts determine the threat is real, they send alerts and actionable intelligence—including visual description, weapon type, and last known location—to first responders and local personnel within 3 to 5 seconds of detection.

The software currently protects thousands of buildings for hundreds of customers in 42 states, and demand in education, commercial, transportation and government continues to grow. The patented solution is recognized by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a promising anti-terrorism technology, as its video analytics technology received the SAFETY Act DT&E designation.
