Chris Lode receives KUDOS award from Board of Regents | News

At its June meeting, the University of Nebraska (NU) Board of Regents presented Chris Lode with a KUDOS Award for her positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile for others.

As an assistant to Rich Klein, Ph.D. (Vice Chancellor for Institutional Effectiveness and Student Success) and Cathy Pettid, LMHP (Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students), Lode is known for her quick wit and excellent communication skills, as well as the kindness she brings to everyone she meets.

Lode has been with UNO since 2002, having previously worked in the Recruitment Services Department and later in the Student Admissions Department. In her current role, she supports two of the busiest and most student-facing areas of the University. Managing the calendars of two Vice-Chancellors is no small feat, and Chris handles it with tact and grace.

Barb Harvey, executive assistant to the chancellor, said, “Chris has always communicated with students, faculty, staff and community partners in her roles. Chris treats everyone with dignity and respect, no matter who they are.”

Their positive attitude and desire to help others embody the Maverick Spirit and extend beyond the boundaries of our campus.

“Chris often sees our students on the city bus on their way to work. When they come to her with questions, she always listens and directs them to the right resources.”

At the Board of Regents’ KUDOS Award ceremony, Lode was thanked for her commitment to the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Congratulations, Chris!
