Travis Kelce reveals the exact moment Taylor Swift “convinced” him

Travis Kelce says he still remembers how his girlfriend Taylor Swift “won him over.”

The Kansas City Chiefs star and the pop star were just weeks away from the big launch of their relationship when Swift attended his game against the Chicago Bears in September.

“The first game she came to, against the Bears, I thought, ‘I can probably get you everything,'” Kelce recalled on Tuesday’s episode of the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast. “And she just walked through the front door. You can’t go down there and talk to security.”

“She was like, ‘I just want to be with my family and my friends and experience this with everyone,'” he added. “She got a lot of points for that. I thought, ‘Damn, she’s in the thick of it. She wants to be a part of it. She wants to support me and do things like that.’ I thought – she really won me over with that.”

Their appearance at the game catapulted the celebrity couple into the pop culture zeitgeist. Since then, they have not only performed together on “Saturday Night Live” but also on Swift’s Eras Tour stage in London on Sunday – where the singer serenaded 90,000 fans at her sold-out performance.

Swift shared on Tuesday that she was “still laughing/ecstatic” about Kelce’s “Eras Tour debut,” and there’s certainly a good reason for that: The NFL tight end arrived onstage at Wembley Stadium wearing a top hat to touch up her makeup and try to revive Swift between songs, a role usually filled by a regular tour performer.

However, the 34-year-old was probably just returning the favor, as Swift has attended several Chiefs games over the past 10 months. Kelce confirmed that her kindness and willingness to get to know his family has really made her a team player.

“She’s very confident,” he said on the podcast. “I think that’s why I really fell in love with her, because she’s so genuine with friends and family. It can get crazy for someone with so much attention, and she just stays so laid back and cool. And that’s (something) I can admire.”

When asked to name his three favorite Swift songs, Kelce unflinchingly chose “Blank Space,” “Cruel Summer,” and “So High School.” In what was arguably the most endearing moment of the show, Kelce said the latter had a “sentimental meaning” – because it was about him.

“You know how to play ball, I know Aristotle,” he recited the lyrics with an ironic smile.
