Brand Park hosts first concert of 2024 summer series | WETM

ELMIRA, NY (WETM) — The first concert of the 2024 Brank Park Summer Concert Series took place at Brand Park in Elmira. A concert is scheduled every Sunday during the summer from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. through August 25.

Many concertgoers gathered in the park to listen to the music of the White River Band. Those present were delighted by the band’s performance and some of them spontaneously stood up and danced to the music. In a Facebook post, the Brand Park Beautification Committee explained that this year marks the 22nd year of the summer concerts.

One of the concertgoers, John Basilion, said it was his first time at the concert and added: “It’s my first time and I think it’s great. They should do this more often, they have all summer.”

Another concertgoer, Echo Massey, who has attended many summer concerts, added: “We meet a lot of people that we see every year and they all come back. Everyone is so friendly and everyone talks to everyone. Basically, it’s the same people we see every year.”

The band Little Rowdy will be performing at the concert next Sunday.
