Taylor Swift performs “Clara Bow” live in front of Stevie Nicks in Dublin

Taylor Swift’s Department for Tortured Poets The song “Clara Bow” not only mentions the eponymous “It” girl, but also Stevie Nicks. The Fleetwood Mac legend happened to be at the Eras Tour in Dublin tonight, which was a good opportunity for Swift to present the song live.

“I’ve never played this song live before,” Swift told the audience as she moved into the “surprise song” portion of the show. “The reason I want to play it tonight is because I have a friend of mine here who watches the show and she’s really one of the reasons I – or any artist – can do what I can do… She’s really helped me so much over the years. I’m talking about Stevie Nicks.”

In the second verse of “Clara Bow,” Swift sings: “You look like Stevie Nicks/ 1975, the hair and the lips/ The crowd goes wild at her fingertips/ Half moonlight, a total eclipse.” In this live version, she also incorporated a few lines from her 2012 song “The Lucky One.” From there, she also played the midnight According to Nicks, the song helped her mourn her bandmate and friend Christine McVie, who died just weeks after the release.

Before Swift leaves Ireland, she can toast with a Guinness to Tortured poets“10th consecutive week at the top of the Billboard 200. Watch clips from the evening below.”
