Peacock has revealed a first look at Nathalie Emmanuel in her new film The killer.

The killer is a remake of the 1989 action film of the same name by John Woo, which he once again directed.

In a Twitter/X thread, Peacock shared three images of Emmanuel in her lead role as Zee, a notorious assassin. She is pictured alongside co-star Omar Sy, who plays police detective Sy.

“Never send boys to do a woman’s job. #TheKiller from legendary director John Woo comes out August 23 exclusively on Peacock,” reads the caption of the first post.

Alongside Emmanuel, Sam Worthington plays Zee’s mysterious mentor and caregiver Finn, while Diana Silvers plays a blind young woman named Jenn.

When Zee refuses Finn’s assignment to kill Jenn in a Paris nightclub, their alliances are quickly shattered and she finds herself hunted by the skilled police investigator Sy.

In an interview with IGNEmmanuel spoke about her character’s struggles in the film. “Zee has lived a sort of lonely life and maybe has one or two friends, if you can even call her that, because she’s an assassin. That’s her whole life and she’s very, very good at it. And she has a very strict code of how she likes to do things.

“And when she’s told who to kill and when to kill someone, she does it in her own way. And her dilemma in this film is that she’s being asked to kill someone she doesn’t think deserves it. And for some reason she can’t believe that person deserves to die,” she said.

The killer will be released exclusively on Peacock on August 23. A UK release date has not yet been announced.
