Emma Stone talks about the ‘weird’ rule SNL has for Five-Timers Club members and how she got around it

As one of the most celebrated actresses of her generation and beyond, Emma Stone has proven that she is not bound by genre restrictions, while also proving time and again that she is most comfortable in the realm of comedy. She follows her Oscar-winning Poor things Performance with the “Stirring and great” Types of kindnessand it seems plausible that fans will see her appear on Saturday Night Live for her first moderation job after be greeted by other icons in the Sketch series’ esteemed Five Timers Club.

While promoting her second team-up with director Yorgos Lanthimos, Stone appeared The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and chatted with SNL veteran presenter about her launch in December 2023 and said during the interview that hosting the show is one of the most important experiences she can have. She also spoke about a certain rule that celebs apparently have to abide by when it comes to their Five Timers Club attire that fans may not be aware of. In her words:

Well, that’s the weird thing – and I don’t want to steal the show because it’s my favorite place. But they don’t want you to keep the jacket. They’ll say, “Well, you’re not keeping the jacket, you’re just wearing it for the monologue…” I said, “No. I’m taking it with me. I’m wearing it to the after-party. I’m taking it home.”
