However, the actor said he felt reassured by the help of series creator Christopher Storer and the episode’s director, Duccio Fabbri, during the filming of the challenging part. Read on for more details.

Lionel Boyce revealed that the creator of The Bear helped him shoot challenging scenes in season 3

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lionel Boyce talked about his experience working with the all-star cast of his series The Bear. While Boyce talked about his favorite part of the series and more, the actor also shared how challenging it was for him to film a monologue portion in episode 3 of the third season of The Bear.

He said the opportunity to perform a monologue challenged him, noting it felt “like jumping off a cliff, but he (Christopher Storer) believes in me.” The “Jackass Forever” actor explained that he believes series creator Storer “wouldn’t have written it” if he didn’t believe he “could do it.”

Boyce said they don’t do many “takes” when filming, noting that Duccio Fabbri, who directed that episode, allowed them to do “a couple of takes,” and when they felt they had nailed it, Fabbri tried different ways of executing it to give the scene variety and depth, adding that Storer “really wants everything to feel natural.”

Lionel Boyce hints at what fans can expect from his character in season 3 of The Bear

In an interview with Esquire, Lionel Boyce hints at what viewers can expect from his character Marcus Brooks’ journey in The Bear Season 3. The season sees Marcus return to work while grieving the death of his mother, which was depicted in Episode 2 titled Next.

Boyce said, “Grief has been there in the show from the beginning. The show starts with it, so it’s explored in different ways here.” He further mentioned that each character is in a different stage of grief, noting that his character is also struggling with “newfound creativity” while also facing a real-life situation (the death of his mother). The actor concluded, “How grief can affect creativity is what I think Marcus is exploring.”

Season 3 of The Bear is now streaming on Hulu.
