Glastonbury guests weren’t prepared for this, but their kids will love it.

Michael J. Fox, 63, joined Coldplay on stage on Saturday to play guitar during the band’s performance at Glastonbury Festival.

Chris Martin took a moment to thank the “Back to the Future” star, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease and performed in a wheelchair.

“The main reason we’re in a band is because we saw ‘Back to the Future.’ So thanks to our eternal hero and one of the greatest people on earth, Mr. Michael J. Fox,” Martin, 47, told the audience. “Thank you, Michael.”

Fox’s character in Back to the Future, Marty McFly, famously plays guitar in a key scene at a school dance in 1955. Marty plays “Johnny B. Goode” years before the song’s debut, inspiring Chuck Berry to record it, and wows audiences with his forward-thinking guitar solo.

“I guess you’re not ready for this yet,” McFly tells the stunned audience, “but your kids will love it.”

On The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2022, Martin said that scene “made me want to be in a band.”

While Fox played guitar at Glastonbury, Martin nodded to the “Johnny B. Goode” scene from the film by singing, “Go, Johnny, go, go, go!”

This isn’t Fox’s first time performing with Coldplay. In 2016, he joined the band at a show in New Jersey to perform “Earth Angel” and “Johnny B. Goode,” both songs from the school dance scene in Back to the Future. Onstage, Martin called Back to the Future his and his son Moses’ “favorite movie of all time.”

In last year’s candid documentary “Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie,” Fox explored his career and his battle with Parkinson’s disease, which he was diagnosed with at age 29. In 2020, he published his memoir, “No Time Like the Future: An Optimist Considers Mortality.”

In February, Fox received a standing ovation at the British Academy Film Awards when he rose from his wheelchair to accept the award for Best Picture. Presenter David Tennant described the actor as a “true legend of cinema.”

Tom Cruise was spotted with Simon Pegg at Glastonbury after the Taylor Swift Eras Tour show

Other highlights from Glastonbury on Saturday include a sighting of Tom Cruise.

The actor was spotted with his Mission: Impossible co-star Simon Pegg, who sang along to Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” according to videos shared on social media.

The appearance came a week after Cruise took part in Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in London alongside other stars including Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Liam Hemsworth, Hugh Grant and Greta Gerwig.
