Alexa and Brennon from ‘Love Is Blind’ celebrate their third anniversary (exclusive)

• As they prepare for the arrival of their baby, the couple is also celebrating their third wedding anniversary and spoke to PEOPLE about this special milestone.

Three years have passed and Alexa and Brennon Lemieux still have an eternity ahead of them!

The couple, who met in season 3 of Love is blindcelebrate their third anniversary on Sunday, June 30 — and they tell PEOPLE the milestone feels unreal.

“It doesn’t feel like three years,” says Alexa, 29. “When I look at old photos and stuff, I see that it’s been three years, but in some ways it feels so much longer, like we’ve been married forever. At the same time, the three years have flown by.”

“I think about how different my vows would have been, how different the day would have been if we had met and married in a normal way,” she continues. “I just felt like I loved him so much at the time, and it’s funny to look back because I did love him, but when you compare it to how much I love him now, it’s so different.”

“It feels great,” notes Brennon, 33. “For me, it’s an interesting perspective because we had almost a year and a half before the show came out. So it’s like we were in a relationship and then out of the blue people are like, ‘Wait a minute, you guys are married?’ So it’s weird. It’s kind of a weird transition.”

“It’s definitely a difficult start,” laughs Alexa.

After winning the hearts of fans in Season 3 of the Netflix hit, Alexa and Brennon have settled into their new home in Texas and are currently preparing for the birth of their first child together – news that PEOPLE exclusively helped them announce.

The couple previously reflected on their love story, telling PEOPLE in February 2024: Love is blind played a big role and their relationship has only grown stronger since their season aired in 2022.

“I don’t think Brennon and I would have met outside of the show, although I hope fate would have intervened,” Alexa previously said. “(LIB) allowed us both to communicate and really open up. I know that, at least as far as I was concerned, I had never met anyone that I trusted and felt comfortable enough with to open up before I met Brennon.”

When it comes to making their marriage work, Alexa and Brennon talk openly about their frequent check-ins and making time to prioritize each other. “Sometimes life gets busy and you have to make sure you’re still there for each other. It’s also extremely important to continue going out even after the wedding. Whether it’s a fancy date, cooking dinner together, playing golf or going to a movie, it’s important to spend time with your partner,” Alexa said in February.

This attitude has not changed now that they are pregnant. With only a few weeks left until the birth of their little girl, the two have focused primarily on preparing everything – and enjoying their last days alone.

“We’ve definitely prioritized each other differently than we did before the baby,” Brennon explains. “I try to be a little more understanding of her anxieties about just being there and getting the nursery ready, X, Y, Z, making sure there’s enough diapers in the house. So it’s like we’re just getting into that phase a little bit now. I think we work well together.”

“He’s going from being a zaddy to being a daddy,” Alexa jokes, before adding, “Brennon is very supportive, but in a very quiet way. Especially during pregnancy, it’s a lot, and he automatically knows when my back hurts or when he wants to give me a foot massage or things like that, and that’s really nice.”

“He’s very sensitive and I think a lot of people don’t really see that because they don’t show it as clearly,” Alexa notes. “Sometimes I’m not even sure if he’s listening to me when I’m complaining all the time, but he is. He takes everything in and (when I’m) having harder days, he recognizes that and brings me flowers and (will) just be there. Sometimes it’s better to have a silent support, someone who will just hold your hand instead of (talking).”

“Actions speak louder than words, so I’m very grateful that he is who he is and that he shows how much he cares,” she adds.

To celebrate their big day, Alexa and Brennon plan dinner at their favorite restaurant in Dallas.

The couple aren’t big gift givers, so they’ve opted for travel and new experiences instead – although Alexa jokes: “Of course, there’s a baby on the way this year, so I told him my gift was a child… I don’t know how he could top that!”

And when their fifth anniversary comes around in 2026, the couple plans to renew their vows on a beach – possibly with more children in tow!

“When we were imagining our wedding day before the wedding, we both really wanted to get married on a beach,” Alexa says. “So we could definitely do that. Just barefoot on the beach and being able to repeat that with our kids by then… I think that would be really special.”

“Have a little flower girl, a ring bearer,” Brennon adds. “I guess we need to have more kids!”
