Nicola Peltz Beckham is reportedly taking legal action against a dog groomer after tragically losing her beloved Chihuahua Nala.

The heartbroken 29-year-old star is said to have assembled a legal team to investigate the details of her pet’s sudden death.

Sources claim that Nala received a health certificate from her regular veterinarian before traveling to New York, although later veterinary reports noted “fluid in her lungs, an erratic heartbeat, and neurological issues prior to her death.”

Nicola is inconsolable

Despite their previous satisfactory experiences, something went horribly wrong for Nicola’s family with the same dog grooming service. Nicola’s heartache spread across social media as she took to Instagram and shared her ordeal: “This has been the hardest month of my life. I can’t even find the words to describe my heartache on so many levels.

“Nala was perfectly healthy when she went to the groomer yesterday, but when she came out she was hyperventilating and couldn’t breathe. We rushed her to the vet and she died hours later.”

She continued, “I share this in hopes this doesn’t happen to other dogs. Her life was taken far too soon. She was my beautiful queen and stayed by my side through it all for nine years. Please be careful who you send your dogs to because you don’t know what goes on behind closed doors. A day without Nala on earth feels like an eternity. I wish I could hold her in my arms again. I pray she is with my Naunni. I hope to see her soon.”
