Teams in the playoff rounds, championship games of all divisions scheduled for Sunday evening

MOOSEJAWTODAY.COM – Things may have looked a little iffy due to all the rain Friday night, but thanks to hard work on the fields and numerous rescheduling, the Moose Jaw Minor Girls ‘A’ Fastball Tournament is in full swing.

And many teams from Moose Jaw are in the middle of the action.

In the U11 division, the Moose Jaw Ice Crushers defeated the Estevan Elite 15-1 and defeated the Regina Saints 8-1 to finish first in Group A. The Moose Jaw Ice Breakers finished second in Group B after losing to the Prince Albert Aces Fiddler 13-3 and then scoring a 12-0 victory over the White Butte Storm.

The Breakers then played their first playoff game, defeating the Saskatoon Hustlers 17-1, setting up a match against the Ice Crushers at 8:15 a.m. on Sunday.

The final of the U11 Championship will take place at 5:30 p.m. at Optimist Park Diamond 3.

The Moose Jaw Ice had no trouble reaching the A playoffs in the U13 division, beating the Muenster As 13-0 and then defeating the Regina Royal Reapers 14-5. They were scheduled to face the Lloydminster Liners in their first playoff game on Saturday afternoon.

The final of the U13 Championship will take place at Optimist Park Diamond 1.

In the U15 division, the Ice A won both round robin games, beating the Meadow Lake Sox 6-2 and beating the Saskatoon Hustlers 14-7. They then lost their first playoff game 9-5 to the Lloydminster Liners and will now face the Hustlers in the B championship division at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

The Ice B didn’t have much luck in the U15 division, losing 0-5 to the South Bow River Rockies and 4-6 to the South East Sun Devils. They will now face the Sun Devils again in the B team playoffs. The final in this category will take place on Sunday at 4:15 p.m.
