The 2024 World Series of Poker is in the final third of its schedule, with 65 of the 99 live bracelet events already completed. Thanks to nearly 140,000 participants, $217.9 million in prize money has already been awarded. Below is a look at the last two events that have been completed.
Event 62 – $600 PokerNews Deepstack Championship No-Limit Hold’em
The $600 PokerNews Deepstack Championship No-Limit Hold’em event attracted a total of 5,110 entrants, with 40 players qualifying for the popular daily deepstack tournaments via a leaderboard challenge. The high number of entrants resulted in a prize pool of $2,606,100. After four days of play, Britain’s Hector Berry went home with the bracelet and the top prize of $282,876.
This was Berry’s first live win and only his seventh. He has already earned nearly $327,000 in his career.
The best 767 finishers of this event made it into the money, including Ray Henson (12th) and World Poker Tour Champion Darryll Fish (5th).

Event 65 – $5,000 Senior High Roller No-Limit Hold’em
The first $5,000 Seniors High Roller No-Limit Hold’em event was a huge success. 811 participants (all at least 50 years old) brought the decent buy-in to the table, so that the final prize pool was $6,751,800.
Mark Checkwicz will go down in poker history as the first champion of this tournament. The player from Springfield, MA won $573,876 and his first bracelet.
This was by far the largest win ever recorded for Checkwicz, far surpassing the $25,986 he earned for winning a $400 buy-in event at Foxwoods Resort Casino a decade ago. Megastack Challenge.
There was a lot of strong competition on the home stretch, including four-time bracelet winner Farzad Bonyadi (18th), 2023 WPT World Championship The runners-up of the Senior High Rollers Judieth Bielan (10th), Angela Jordison (9th) and WPT Master Michael Vela (3rd).
