Chris Pratt talks about the possibility of joining the DCU after James Gunn’s visit

After tackling the MCU multiverse, Chris Pratt doesn’t rule out a foray into the DCU.

After his recent visit to director James Gunn on the set of Superman: LegacyThe actor said there’s “always a chance” he could make the jump to the franchise, but was reticent to name a character he would like to play.

“I have to leave that up to the fans and people like James,” Pratt told TMZ. “I’m not entirely sure. I’m really not sure.”

When Pratt was asked directly if he would join the rival company, he answered without hesitation: “Yes, of course.”

“If it fits my schedule and makes sense, I would love it,” he continued. “Obviously, I love playing Star-Lord, and hopefully there’s a chance it could happen again. I just feel so blessed to be able to do all of this, to be considered for all of this. If it’s right and the fans love it, I would be more than happy to do it.”

His comments come after Gunn shared a photo of Pratt on the set of Superman: Legacy Earlier this month. “It’s always nice to have friends visiting on set,” he wrote under the post.

Pratt made his MCU debut as Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord) in 2014 Protector of the Galaxywhich Gunn directed. They reunited for the sequels in 2017 and 2023, as well as Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

Since taking over DC Studios with Peter Safran in 2022, Gunn has been hard at work directing Superman: Legacywhich will usher in a new DC multiverse. The film stars David Corenswet as the titular Man of Steel, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen.

I think we need to figure out what we’re doing (at DC) first. I’d be lying if I said we haven’t talked about it. But all the conversations have been very, very relaxed and fun.”

Gunn has since been in talks with Pratt’s Guardian Co-star Pom Klementieff will play a “specific character” in the DCU, she recently confirmed.
