Schuck on a Truck: Club Four 17U Boost volleyball team on its way to Las Vegas for the national tournament

QUINCY—Vegas, baby!

The Club Four 17U Boost volleyball team is heading to the Mojave Desert and one of the country’s major sporting event hubs – Las Vegas – to compete in the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships. The team departs Monday and will compete in group play starting Wednesday at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

The Club Four team will play in the American 17U age division. The group of players from west-central Illinois high schools qualified for the national event by winning the Mid-East Qualifier in Indianapolis earlier this year. The group was ranked in the top 30 in the country in their division this season.

Members of the team include (in alphabetical order) Illini West center Madalyn Boyer, Quincy Notre Dame center Eva Breckenkamp, ​​Quincy High School center Abby Bunch, QND center Annie Eaton, QND center Kourtney Keck, QHS center Madison Loos, Brown County center Ashlee Markert, QND center Ashlyn Peters, QND center Ashlyn Peters and QHS center Kaley Summers.

Before heading to Vegas, the players on the Club Four team took the time to sit in the back of Muddy River’s sports editor Matt Schuckman’s pickup truck and chat about the trip, their summer accomplishments and the springboard to the fall prep season.
