CAMDEN – Willie Nelson will be on tour again, apparently in time for a long-awaited July 4 concert here.

The 91-year-old singer has canceled several performances on his Outlaw Music Festival tour in recent days due to an unspecified illness.

However, according to a post on his Facebook page, doctors have given the country singer permission to resume his performances.

“He will continue his performances on the Outlaw Tour next week,” the June 28 post reads.

Nelson will miss shows this weekend — June 29 in Wantagh, New York, and June 30 in Holmdel, Monmouth County, the post said.

The tour is scheduled for July 2 in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

This will be followed by the Camden show “Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic” at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on the city’s waterfront.

The tour began on June 21, but Nelson missed the first five shows in Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and upstate New York before this weekend.

A Facebook post on June 21 said Nelson “was not feeling well and had been advised by his doctor to rest for the next four days.”

Nelson headlines the all-star show, which includes Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, Mavis Staples and others.

The tour is scheduled to end on September 20 with a performance in New Hampshire.
