Nicole Scherzinger claims she suffered sleep deprivation with the Pussycat Dolls

Nicole Scherzinger says in a new interview that her time with the Pussycat Dolls was a “deeply overwhelming experience” that did not allow her much rest, leading to “sleep problems”.

“It was such a difficult time, you were battling and battling your own demons and problems, you were always on the road and we never had sleep in our schedule,” the “Buttons” singer told the Sunday Times on Thursday. “I mean, it was just a recipe for disaster, to be honest.”

Scherzinger, 46, performed with the pop group in the early 2000s and achieved worldwide success.

However, the former “Masked Singer” juror admitted that it would be “completely different” if the two were on tour again today and working together again.

“They’ve set rules and you know, it’s a more awake community now,” Scherzinger said.

“But when we did it, it wasn’t like that. It was more like, ‘Kill them to the bone until they’re unconscious.’ I just couldn’t sleep. I’ve always had trouble sleeping.”

Page Six reached out to Robin Antin, the group’s founder, for comment but did not receive a response.

Although it wasn’t easy for Scherzinger to juggle her busy schedule, she told The Sunday Times that she didn’t feel “exploited at all” when it came to her sexy wardrobe because she had a certain level of control over it.

“I may not have liked some of the clothes I was wearing, but I was allowed to design a lot of the clothes myself and say, ‘No, I want to wear pants,'” the “Don’t Cha” singer explained.

“I wanted to look like will.i.am and Gwen Stefani. So I was allowed to wear clothes that made me feel confident and then the girls were allowed to choose what they wanted.”

In late 2019, Scherzinger hinted that she would reunite with her former group members, including Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta and Kimberly Wyatt.

However, the “Stickwitu” singer then backed out, which led to 62-year-old Antin filing a lawsuit against Scherzinger for breach of contract and other allegations.

“It has been a complete shock, disappointment and heartbreaking pain for me,” the “Don’t Hold Your Breath” singer told the Sunday Times about the lawsuit, which she emphatically stated through her lawyers was “baseless.”

“But I’m not a victim, I’m a victor. And I made my point. I knew where I stood, and that’s why I responded with eight counterclaims. But you know, I’m hopeful for the future. I’m very hopeful.”

As Scherzinger further reflected on her time with the Pussycat Dolls, she concluded that she has “changed” a lot since then and that the world will “perceive her differently” as a result.

“I had at least ten years off from the Dolls. I had done the work and grown and developed,” said the former “X Factor” judge.

“I thought, you know, in this industry, everything is on everyone else’s terms and never on my terms. And now I realize my worth.”
