Secrets of Love Island season 6 that viewers don’t know, from pre-show requirements to the strict rules of the villa

According to former islander Coye Simmons, the cast of LOVE Island USA must follow numerous rules and regulations before being invited onto the show and during their time in the villa.

Coye – who was the first cast member to be eliminated from season 6 – spoke exclusively to The US Sun about what happens behind the scenes.

The reality series “Peacock” follows a group of singles on their search for true love in the villa while competing against each other for the grand prize of $100,000.

However, viewers only see a fraction of their journey, which is much longer than fans think.

Coye, 28, revealed that the production company contacted him via Instagram and expressed interest in his participation in season 6, although he initially did not consider the offer to be serious.

“Someone contacted me on Instagram, the response was vague and I thought to myself: is this real?” confessed the 2.03 meter tall star.

“I thought, why not give it a chance? It’s cool to just be there and be in the villas, meet new people, be in Fiji. It’s a great experience. If there’s a knock on the door, open it. Why not?” Coye added that he was ultimately open to the idea.

Lengthy casting process

He soon realized that the process was more extensive than anyone had imagined.

Coye revealed that the group had to attend a mandatory session with a psychiatrist and fill out a questionnaire before being considered for the show.

The production then flew Coye and his co-stars to Fiji two weeks before filming began, where they settled in and shot commercials, including the show’s steamy introduction in which they pose seductively in swimwear on the beach.

As soon as they entered the villa, their privacy was no longer guaranteed, as microphones were immediately strapped to their bodies and they were only allowed to remove them under certain circumstances.

“In the pool, you’re allowed to take the microphone off. That’s basically the only time you’re allowed to take the microphone off. Even in the shower, there are cameras everywhere,” Coye explained.

He also said that cell phones were not allowed in the villa, apart from the phones given to them by production to take selfies and receive special text messages.

This meant that none of the actors, including those who were voted out, could communicate with the outside world.

Additionally, Coye shared that the episodes are filmed in real time and everything happens within “a matter of days,” which could be the most captivating aspect for viewers.

The show regularly brings in new faces, called “Bombshells,” and forces couples to make heartbreaking decisions between their friends and their romantic partners.

Coye also admitted to The US Sun that things were not portrayed on TV as they appeared in real life, as producers handle a lot of things off-screen.

He pointed out that he was perceived as the “quiet one” on the show, even though he was a big personality on set.

The TV star also noted that many of his intimate moments with JaNa Craig, 27, who he dated during his time in the villa, were not aired.

“It’s just one of those things. Honestly, they try to show it to everyone, but honestly, it wasn’t shown to me that way,” Coye argued.

Season 6 of Love Island USA – the first hosted by Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix – ends in August.
