Warren Masemola wins season two

South African actor Warren Masemola, who hid under the big mask of the giraffe, was crowned The Masked Singer Winners of season two at the season finale, broadcast on S3 (formerly known as SABC 3) on Saturday 29 June.

Warren Masemola wins the second season of “The Masked Singer South Africa”

Actor Warren Masemola was named winner The Masked Singer Season two. The finale aired on Saturday 29 June at 6.30pm on S3 (formerly SABC3). This season featured Micasa’s J’Something, Somizi Mhlongo, Skhumba Hlophe and Sithelo Shozi as the super sleuths.

After the semi-finals, four masks remained in the competition – Blue Crane, Owl, Giraffe and Gold. Of course, all masks were unmasked in the final. Blue Crane turned out to be former Miss SA and author Shudufhadzo Musida. Owl turned out to be actor Aubrey Poo.

Gold turned out to be gospel singer Sbu Noah. All investigators unanimously agreed on Gold’s identity.

Girrafe won the competition after his electrifying performance of Welcome to jamrock by Diaman Marley and was finally revealed to be legendary South African award-winning actor Warren Masemola. Somizi Mhlongo, Sithelo Shozi and Skumba correctly guessed Girrafe as Warren.

The legendary actor on the victory in season two

In an exclusive interview with The South AfricanMasemola revealed that the victory was exactly what he had imagined.

“It’s everything I imagined when I signed up for the show. It feels good to win at anything I’m interested in, whether it’s a competition or not. And even if I’m doing it for myself, I’m always happy to come out as a winner,” Masemola told exclusively The South African.

When asked if he managed to win the second season of The Masked Singer, Masemola admitted that he did, explaining that he put most of his energy into imagination.

“I brought about the victory because everything I put my energy into is what I value the most. And the most important thing for me this season was to win,” he continued.

While Warren won the prestigious Golden Mask trophy, there was another trophy for the detective with the most correct first guesses this season. Sithelo and Somizi shared the Golden Ear trophy.
