Moolenaar supports Rogers for US Senate in Michigan

U.S. Rep. John Moolenaar of Michigan on Wednesday became the latest member of the Republican delegation to endorse former Rep. Mike Rogers in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate.

Moolenaar, a Republican from Caledonia, was appointed chairman of the bipartisan House China Committee this spring.

“There is no doubt that Michigan will be the center of attention in November, and with an open Senate seat, we as Republicans have a unique opportunity to elect a strong conservative to represent us in the Senate,” Moolenaar said in a statement.

“Mike has served our nation long and with distinction, fighting for Michigan, holding China and our enemies accountable, and getting real results for families. I am honored to support my friend Mike Rogers for the U.S. Senate.”

Trump-backed Rogers has also received endorsements from other Michigan lawmakers, namely Reps. Jack Bergman of Watersmeet, Lisa McClain of Bruce Township and Tim Walberg of Tipton, as well as senators such as Steve Daines of Wyoming, chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, as well as John Barrasso of Wyoming, Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Tim Scott of South Carolina.
