Chris “Mad Dog” Russo teased Stephen A. Smith about his entrance videos during the NBA Finals.

During the series between the Celtics and Mavericks, ESPN’s social media team shared videos several times of Smith strutting into the arena like a player.

During his weekly “First Take” appearance on Wednesday, Russo Smith revealed the clips.

“This is ridiculous. He thinks he’s playing (in the games),” Russo said.

“How about he comes into Game 4 against the Celtics on Sunday night in Dallas? Steve, that’s stupid. You’ve got a guy behind you, you’ve got the cameras, what do you think, are you going to score 36 points tonight with the sunglasses on?

“I mean, that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. How about you go to a baseball game in a t-shirt and shorts, sit on the upper deck and drink a beer with the guys? Why are you doing that?! Look at that! That’s ridiculous. We know you’re a star, Steve, you don’t have to show off.”

Smith, who wore a light pink and purple suit for Game 4, was undeterred.

“Is that your way of saying the suit was pretty cool?” he asked.

Host Molly Qerim chimed in: “It was a great suit. You looked really good. I almost texted you, but then I was like, I don’t want to be so nice. But the fact that (Russo) just said, ‘What do you think, are you going to score 36 points?’ is damn funny! Because he goes out there like he’s LeBron. He has this irrational confidence and that’s what makes him Stephen A.”

Smith, who was part of ESPN’s final coverage, told Qerim that his confidence was not irrational and Russo that he “didn’t ask for it” and ESPN decided to follow him with a camera crew and share it on social media.
