Michigan State wide receiver Nick Marsh receives high recognition

With the receiver position a big question mark for the Michigan State football team entering next season, Nick Marsh is one player who can compete for the starting wide receiver position as a freshman next year.

Marsh will be one of the most exciting players on the Michigan State football team next season. Marsh’s performance at the Spring Showcase was exciting for Spartan fans with three catches for 105 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown.

Brad Crawford of 247Sports recently ranked the top 24 freshmen who can make an impact on their team. Crawford listed Marsh as the 20th-ranked freshman, ahead of players like Georgia’s Ellis Robinson IV, Florida State’s Landen Thomas, Ohio State’s Julian Sayin and Clemson’s Sammy Brown.

“Marsch is new coach Jonathan Smith and the Spartans’ highest-rated signing and shined during Michigan State’s spring showcase with three catches for 105 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown,” Crawford wrote.

Entering his freshman season at Michigan State University, Marsh was rated as a four-star recruit, ranked 107th in the class of 2024 and 22nd as a wide receiver according to 247sports. Marsh should get a lot of playing time on the field with sophomore quarterback Aidan Chiles throwing him the ball.

The Spartans’ wide receiver roster isn’t very deep. Montorie Foster and Jaron Glover are the only returning receivers who had triple-digit receiving yards. Foster had 43 receptions for 576 yards, while Glover had 14 receptions for 261 yards.

Marsh may not be the WR1 at the end of the season, but with his physicality and talent, he should be able to make an impact on the field. After next season, Marsh will most likely be Chiles’ first choice for the rest of his Michigan State career.
