“The Masked Singer” announces the finalists of season 11 after a “monstrous” three-way battle royale

And then there were two.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Masked Singer Season 11, Episode 11, “Semifinal: Then there were three.”

From super clues to a “monstrous” Battle Royale to another Prime Delivery, it was a jam-packed week on The Masked Singer ahead of the season finale next week.

Wednesday’s episode was a two-hour affair, with the first half being a “Road to the Semi-Finals” special. Similar to past times the show has done such things, the episode featured the Season 11 semi-finalists recapping their groups and the season so far, with highlights woven in and a new clue and bonus appearance each from contestants Goldfish, Gumball, and Clock.

As for the semi-finals themselves, the competition began with an epic group performance of “Higher Love” by Kygo and Whitney Houston, setting the stage for the truly amazing vocal performances to come.

Gumball kicked things off with “I Lived” by OneRepublic, followed by Clock with “Dancing in the Street” by Martha and the Vandellas. Goldfish capped off his solo performances with a rousing rendition of “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette.

After each performance, panelists Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Rita Ora, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke were treated to new “super clues” that were so obvious they might have been better called “super obvious clues.” To help the judges even more, the Prime Delivery clue button from last week was reinstated, and this time McCarthy-Wahlberg decided to press it for Clock.

This resulted in a delivery of roller skates, which McCarthy-Wahlberg naturally put on and promptly fell on her butt, much to the amusement of her and Thicke.

After those antics, it was time for the Battle Royale to officially determine who would move on to the Season 11 finale next week. As host Nick Cannon hinted earlier in the episode, it was a “monstrous” battle, with each contestant singing “A Moment Like This” by Kelly Clarkson with their own unique rendition. Clock performed it in a ballad style, Gumball was more rock ‘n’ roll, and Goldfish opted for a pop twist on the arrangement.

Jeong said it was “the best battle royale in the history of the show,” and this time he might have been right. However, as always, someone had to be unmasked, and Clock was ultimately sent home.

When it came to guessing, Thicke stuck with his season-long choice of Stephanie Mills, McCarthy-Wahlberg stuck with her choice of Roberta Flack, and Jeong drew mockery for Janet Jackson. But it was Ora who finally proved the judges wrong by correctly guessing that Clock was none other than Grammy winner of “Don’t Leave Me This Way,” Thelma Houston.
