Glastonbury fans worried about Cyndi Lauper after the 71-year-old had problems following a “car accident” on stage

Legendary singer Cyndi Lauper has caused concern among some festival-goers at Glastonbury after she apparently encountered problems during her performance on stage.

The “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” hitmaker took to the Pyramid Stage on Saturday afternoon but appeared to be struggling with sound issues. However, some were harsh in their criticism of the 1980s star and many left the venue during her performance.

The pop star took the stage, greeted fans and raved about how happy she was to be “playing here at Glastonbury” on Saturday.

According to The Mirror, she also wished viewers “a happy Pride celebration for all revelers.”

Unfortunately, the cult singer apparently faced a mass walkout when she belted out her signature song “Girls Just Want To Have Fun.”

This did not go unnoticed by fans. Many reported on the performance on social media, with some apparently being worried about the True Colors singer.

In an interview with X, someone commented: “I wonder if Cyndi Lauper’s band has problems with the delay in in-ear monitoring. Cyndi seems to sing half a beat behind everyone else and everyone seems strangely disjointed, especially for an American session band.”

“How out of touch is Cyndi Lauper? Damn it #Glastonbury2024 #Glastonbury,” complained another.

A third fumed: “Man Cyndi Lauper is a car crash. #Glastonbury.” However, many rushed to Lauper’s defense, insisting the blunders were not her fault while applauding the show she put on.

“I’m not happy that everyone is saying #CyndiLauper can’t sing when it’s a sound issue #GLASTONBURY,” one person argued.

“For a girl in her 70s, Cyndi Lauper can still sing at the top of her lungs and put on a great show. Shame the sound in the Pyramid is particularly crappy this afternoon. #Glastonbury,” another declared.

One annoyed fan fumed: “The same bores who complain about Dua Lipa are now into Cyndi Lauper. If you want perfectly performed and recorded guitar strumming, piss off and listen to the Eagles.”

“Pretty obviously Cyndi Lauper can’t hear anything in her earbuds. She tries to lead her band in at the beginning of every song and then sing as best she can at her own tempo. Shame as she has some excellent songs. 71 and looking great and full of energy #Glastonbury,” praised another. (sic)
