I’m a bit older, right?

The Kansas City Chiefs Defensive star Chris Jones is making adjustments ahead of the upcoming NFL season as he celebrates his 30th birthday in July. After his key role in the Chiefs’ recent Super Bowl success, Jones signed a significant long-term contract at the start of the offseason.

But now that he is getting older, he is said to be in talks with the head coach. Andy Reid to reduce his training load during the training camp.

While Jones has expressed a desire to play alongside a teammate Travis Kelce for several more seasons, the recent talks with Reid demonstrate its immediate focus on sustainable performance and longevity.

“Listen, man, I already talked to Andy about it: ‘Let me skip training camp. I’m a little older, right?’ I can feel it,” he noted.

“I can feel when we have a day in training camp. Then give me two days off and one day of work and maybe we can work something out, you know?”

Jones has been proactive about managing his physical condition as he faces the demands of professional football. Sources say the discussions with Reid are aimed at balancing his preseason preparation while protecting his body, particularly his joints, from wear and tear.

The Commitment of the defensive tackle to the Chiefs includes a recently signed multi-year contract that underscores his importance to the team’s defensive strategy.

Despite this, Jones is aware of the strain that tough training sessions can entail, especially as he has a milestone birthday in July.
