New series from the creators of the “best Netflix TV show” fans have ever seen is mysteriously canceled after filming

Netflix sometimes makes decisions that we don’t fully understand.

From removing popular series from the platform to adding movies with pretty bad reviews, the latest move has left many fans baffled.

The streamer reportedly made the decision to quietly cancel a new series before it even had a chance to be seen by viewers.

According to “What’s On Netflix,” the series was supposed to air last year, but it’s now 2024 and there’s still no sign of the show.

Although production begins in 2022 and filming is complete – according to Deadline – Netflix has announced the urban fantasy series titled The grim reality.

It is believed that the series focused on the folklore and fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm from the 18th century and was produced by Wiedemann & Berg.

Other leading roles were to be played by Hyuan Wanner, Patrick Isermeyer, Eidin Jalali and Dennis Schürmann.

On Reddit, some disappointed viewers wondered why The grim reality was never broadcast.

One posted: “I wonder what the reasoning behind this decision is. They already spent the money so they might as well bring it to light.”

Another added his thoughts, writing: “Can’t understand this logic. Make a series but refuse to broadcast it?”

A third shared: “Damn, cancelled before it even had a following. That’s new.”

A fourth person wrote: “This is what upsets me, they have already cancelled great shows like Thought Hunter to take risks on new projects, I honestly can’t think of a new show they’ve put out in the last year that I’ve seen or liked.”

The grim reality was created by the team behind another Netflix series, Darkwhich ran for three seasons and is very popular with fans.

Dark has received such high praise that viewers are calling it the “best Netflix TV show” they’ve ever seen.

The first season aired in 2017 and is still a huge success and viewers are captivated by the thriller.

The synopsis for the first season states: “When two children disappear in a small German town, their sinful pasts and the double lives and broken relationships of the four families searching for the children are revealed.”

“The mystery drama series presents an intricate puzzle full of twists and turns involving a web of strange characters who all have a connection to the town’s storied history – whether they know it or not. The story contains supernatural elements that hark back to the same town in 1986.”

We may never know whether The grim reality would have been worth seeing, seems Dark might be worth exploring as your new favorite binge-watching.
