Hollywood is try to adapt William Gibson’s groundbreaking cyberpunk novel from 1984 Neuromancer for years – and now it really seems to be the latest attempt that does not take the form of a feature film but a series at Science fiction hub Apple TV+– really happens. After an announcement in February announcing the showfollowed by Callum Turner’s casting, another key role has just been filled.

Deadline has the news that Briana Middleton (Sharper; she was also supposed to play the leading role in the scrapped Sam Esmail metropolis series) will be Neuromanceris co-lead alongside Turner (Master of the skies). As previously reported, the series is being co-developed by Graham Roland (who is directing the show) and JD Dillard (who is directing the pilot episode). According to industry magazine “Neuromancer follows a damaged, top-notch superhacker named Case (Turner) who, along with his partner Molly (Middleton), a mirror-eyed assassin, becomes entangled in a web of digital espionage and serious crime as he plots to rob a corporate dynasty with unknown secrets.”

When Neuromancer was announced in February, Roland and Dillard shared their enthusiasm in a statement: “Since we became friends almost 10 years ago, we have been looking for a common task and this collaboration is a dream come true. Neuromancer has inspired so many subsequent science fiction stories and we look forward to introducing television audiences to Gibson’s definitive ‘cyberpunk’ world.”

It is not yet known when Neuromancer may be coming to Apple TV+, but it’s definitely finally starting to get some momentum. Are you excited to watch it?
