Speaking to TMZ, Chris Pratt said he would definitely be open to working with James Gunn in the DCU, provided it fits into his schedule. He said:

Well, there’s always a chance. But of course I couldn’t spoil it with you here on the sidewalk. I could, but I’d rather not. – But of course, if I can fit it into my schedule.

It might seem like the actor has already been cast for a role in the DCU, considering how reticent The War of Tomorrow alum was uneasy with his answer, but it is also possible that he was simply visiting the set, as is often the case with directors and their frequent collaborators. For example, Tom Cruise visited the set of Ready Player One to meet with Steven Spielberg, but the actor did not appear in the film despite its heavily pop culture-based plot.

Given that Pratt has been part of some of the most lucrative franchises in recent times and has consistently done great work in all areas. Be it the MCU, Jurassic WorldSuper Mario Bros. or The Lego MoviePratt has consistently brought in plenty of money for Hollywood, meaning he’s got a major role in the DCU should he ever be cast in it. While Booster Gold is a popular choice for the actor, there’s another role that might suit him better.

Chris Pratt could play the role of Shazam in the DCU, as the character has the physique of DC’s Captain Marvel and could also easily embody the immature but kind-hearted nature of Billy Batson.

Working with the right child actor could make for a great Shazam for the DCU, who would also fit the vibes given off by Corneswet’s Superman. Alternatively, the actor would also look great in the role of Hal Jordan, Earth’s first Green Lantern.

Superman will be released in cinemas on July 11, 2025
